Kingston Maurward Visit March 10, 2016

Students enrolled on the Level 3 Agriculture course at Kingston Maurward college in Dorchester enjoyed a visit to Duffields South West in Yeovil. The tour was led by DSW Technical Manager Mark Partridge along with Area Sales Manager  Andrew Small.

Early grazing with Duffields Fast Grass grass seed mixture March 7, 2016

PG Rushmer of Norwich has been able to get his cows outside since 20th  February for some early bite grazing.

He drilled 30 acres of Duffields Fast Grass grazing mixture, relatively late, on 10th October.

This is a short term ley containing specialist early growing varieties,which will grow at temperatures above just 3-4 degrees Celsius.

The characteristics of early spring growth and vigor has translated into a useful early bite of fresh grass.

The result being an early boost of milk from forage

Riverside Feeds Limited Acquisition November 30, 2015

Duffields Animal Feeds has strengthened its position in the South West.

Duffields have acquired Riverside Feeds Limited near Honiton, near Exeter, strengthening Duffields’ position as manufacturers of animal feeds for farmers across the South West.

The acquisition best-places Duffields to meet the needs of its existing customers in the region as well as providing trusted animal feeds for new customers.

Duffields will maintain the trading title of Riverside Feeds Limited for the foreseeable future.  All current Riverside Feeds staff will retain their roles as part of Duffields’ acquisition and Sally Dare will continue in her role as General Manager.  Riverside Feeds will continue to manufacture animal feeds in bulk and bags for the beef, dairy, sheep, pig and poultry sectors.
