GWW 190 is a Sentinel DV 4/4 truck built in 1947
Originally owned new by John Smiths Brewery it was bought in 1959 by Duffields and was one of the first in the UK to be fitted with bulk blowing equipment. It worked delivering feed until 1968.
It was sold for £40 to the uncle of the eventual restorer and worked on his farm in Bedfordshire during harvest for the next 20 years and then stood in a barn for over 20 years before returning to Norfolk to be restored .
It has been completely restored over the past 6 years by Stephen Peck and his family.
The lorry was driven by his father who used to work for Duffields in the 1960s!
Duffields were in attendance at a Open Farm Sunday event at a Traditional Norfolk Poultry site on 5th June
Over 400 members of the public attended.
The display was themed on the process from ‘Field to Fork’ from the harvesting of local grain, processing into feed, and the growing and finishing of TNP’s Norfolk Black Chickens.
These are carefully reared to produce a premium full of flavor bird, sold in Sainsburys.
Duffields display helped explain to the public what raw materials are used in feeds and why, together with the quality assurance that is in place to ensure quality safe products
