1890 | – | The business was started by William Lant Duffield, who leased a windmill at Mattishall, Norfolk, to produce flour. |
1910 | – | Site of existing Duffields Mill acquired. |
1924 | – | 2 other mills had been acquired, Wiliam was now running Buxton Mill. |
1936 | – | WL Duffields & Sons was formed. |
1940 | – | Compounded feed first produced. |
1952 | – | Tony Duffield purchased a mixed farm at Hautbois. This farm is still in operation today. |
1968 | – | Feed capacity at the Saxlingham site was doubled The River Tas, which used to power the old mill, was diverted. |
1970 | – | The Saxlingham site was again expanded, and the other two sites closed. Saxlingham Mill produced both flour and feed. |
1990 | – | Flour milling ceased. |
2004 | – | The company acquired Pen Mill Feeds at Yeovil. This is an area with high numbers of livestock production. The mill produces 60,000T + of feed per year. |
2009 | – | We acquired Grain Harvesters Feed business (now Duffields South East/Wingham mill in August 2009.) |
2010 | – | Duffields acquire the national Keepers Choice Game Feed business and brand. |
2015 | – | Duffields acquire the Riverside Feeds in Honiton, Devon in November 2015. |
2019-2020 | – | Duffields have just completed a £2 million expansion project at our factory in Yeovil. This will increase production capacity by 25-30% |
Today | – | The Duffield Group is headed by Alistair Duffield, the great grandson of the founder. He is Chairman and Managing Director of the Group. The Duffields Group currently produces and trades 350,000T of feed products per year, spread between ruminant, pig, poultry and game feed sectors. |
